Question 1:
Tell us more about Modsters Singapore and your roles as Excos in the Modsters Committee?
Modsters Singapore started out as a club primarily for BMW owners to share and learn more about their vehicles and better deals. Over the years, we have members who changed to different brands of continental cars and they are still with us and even inviting their friends. To date, we have more than 4000 members in our Facebook community.
My role in the Exco is primarily to handle the treasury role, and to plan for events. The secondary role is to act as a convoy leader or sweeper when we bring our members on drives.
The initial stage was just for sharing information and to gather BMW lovers together. Over the years, car owners of various continental brands have joined us and we are counting past 4000 members on our channel.
My role in Exco is planning of events and sponsorship management. I bridge the gap between members and vendors to maintain a good relationship among all parties.

Question 2:
As a Wealth Associate with expertise in insurance, how do you perceive the role of motor insurance in safeguarding car owners’ interests and traveling needs?
The role of motor insurance is very important in safeguarding our interests. However, the challenges we see in the market are rising and much more can be done to curb all these. Some of the challenges include non-filing of accidents especially by Private Hire Vehicles (PHVs), the increase in number of drivers who drive from Singapore to nearby countries, such as Thailand.

Question 3:
What specific factors would you, as a car owner, consider when selecting motor insurance plans for your vehicles?

Question 4:
Among the BMW enthusiasts, have you heard of any common misconceptions or challenges when choosing the ideal coverage for their vehicles?

Question 5:
Any real-life examples (yourself or your friends) where adequate motor insurance coverage has protected car owners against unforeseen financial losses or liabilities?

Question 6:
How do you usually compare car insurance plans (eg. Words of mouth or research online) before making a purchase?
I make my own comparison based on my experience.

Question 7:
Do you typically stick with the same car insurance plan every year, or do you switch insurance providers based on their annual offers?
It really depends, usually I would stick to the one that best suits my needs.
I usually stick with one insurer as I don’t see a point in changing. Annual offer would not differ too much between insurers. But if there is a chance to explore, having more options would also be good.

Question 8:
Finally, as a Wealth Associate and member of Modsters Singapore, how do you both envision fostering a sense of community among members beyond car matters? Any plans ahead?
One of the plans is to share best practices and knowledge with the hope that more members can benefit from our expertise. We have garnered support from sponsors and vendors from different industries that can give our members special promotions on products or services that they need. We have also been organizing driving events to foster the camaraderie spirit amongst the members. An example would be the post Drive of the Year gathering held at PFPFA Suntec Office. So moving forth, we are sure to be able to deliver more for the members not just from a motoring perspective, but also for their welfare and wellbeing.
